So did anyone peep the symbolism? Shawn climbs the step onto a platform which symbolizes his music career and the fame that comes with it. Or it could be the pedestal that the fans and the world put him on. He meets Justin there, why? because Justin has been on this pedestal for year's that's why he did not walk onto it he just appeared in the scene. Which is why he starts off his verse with "I was 15 when the world put me on a pedestal..." Also the platform is white; which could mean that we view him as pure, perfect, maybe even God like which he's not... neither is Justin, they're humans and they make mistakes. But we view them as the perfect being that can't do wrong that's why they ask if they're monster when they mess up.

Yeah and also the part about tearing them apart making them fall down, down i think they refer to all the hateful comments, and internet trolling, making them act out because the words were getting to them, making them pitty themselves, and second guess their decisions just because of fame. I feel like artists have started to be more open about the exploitation of the music industry, and how it unconsciously has controlled them. They start with passion and "good intentions", they do it for music and all that. Yet it later on it "Gets into their head" and its like the world is just waiting for these artists to fall down so we can call them "monsters". We tend to dehumanize celebreties ...but im glad that artists are starting to talk more openly about how they too are human, and its good that they personally are starting to understand that its ok if they mess up sometimes. Overall love the message of this song
